Well it is that time of year again. Time to start thinking about the McNeil River Lottery for 2013. Deadline to enter is March 1.
McNeil River State Game Sanctuary is located at the north end of the Alaska Peninsula about 100 air miles SW of Homer. Access is limited to those who win permits in a lottery. No more than 10 viewers are allowed in to view bears in the sanctuary per day. Access is by floatplane only.
While the congregation of bears at McNeil Falls is very impressive the sanctuary offers excellent bear viewing all summer.
