Very nicely done. Cute child also. I tried making one of these the other day and gave up. Of course I didn't know what I was doing.

that looks GREAT brandy,, and don't bother w/Dante, I like him in spite of what his Dr. Says!! :-)

back to the shot, I would try a couple things..

1# I think you missed focus on the eyes a tad and it went to the lips. IMO the shot is in focus if the nearest eye is the sharpest thing in the frame.

#2 try the same shot in natural light and maybe over expose about 2/3 of a stop.. If you have a sliding glass door (any door will work actually) take her right up to the edge of the shadow that is coming in the door so she is in the shade but looking into the semi bright window light. now the eyes will reflect the entire horizion.. relatively 50-70% of their width vs, a flash gun or umbrella. that is at max 20% of their width

the eyes are like mirrors, they will only be as reflective as the luminance they are looking into

all in all it is a great shot! and a very cute kid ;-)a

Eric - thanks so much for the tips! I'll definitely give them a try! Although, she's not always cooperative looking in the direction I want her to (and her twin isn't much better about it)!

Thanks again for all the help! :)
