I really like that Tokina shot. It'll most likely be my next lens purchase.

Just got my Toki and used it in anger yesterday - very nice to use and great images.

On the issue of 2.8 vs 4 am I right in saying that you get better AF resolution with 2.8 lenses?

You usually get faster/more accurate Autofocus...but resolution has nothing to do with it.

By resolution, I meant that don't the AF sensors havea better 'resolving' ability at f2.8? Not as in resolution = pixels.

Ahh yeah...I suppose. I just don't use the term resolve or resolution much except when referring to pixels. lol.

Theoretically, an f2.8 lens can be stopped down to f4 and result in an improvement in quality.

If you are striving for perfection, that may be an issue.

The difference in speed is also important in action photos. f4 will have a struggle stopping action.

You might consider a Sigma 24-70 f2.8 at 1/3 the price of the Canon 24-70, then use the difference in those two prices to upgrade your 70-200 f4 to a 70-200 f2.8.

When I was toying over the 16-35 and 17-40 I opted for the 17-40 as it was for landscapes and not low light situations.:D

You almost did... u didnt only becuz BH didnt have it in stock when i checked last nite... hahahaha...

the indoor picture at 15mm looks really sharp... definitely gave me an impulse to buy... i am not sure about its colours (cant really tell from an indoor low light shot...) but i suppose that's less of a concern than resolution.

thanks for posting the picture....and ther M-falcon looks dope... !!@@@!

so much details... i m bought this...

in case you build scale models too... incredible details on the parts... and they all fit perfect... (very very minimal parts trimming / gap filling required) two thumbs up.

The difference is massive.

If you want to be creative and can afford the f2.8 buy it.

If you ever do low light e.g. indoor sports concert photography and can afford the f2.8 buy it.

If all you shots are head on flash or shot on sunny days, save the cash
