Anyone have much experience using both of these cameras for live view use?

My work depends greatly on how fast I can zoom in with my right hand for critical focusing in live view mode. It is very rare that my left hand is available to press the left side zoom buttons on something like the 5d3. I assume there is no way to quickly zoom in while using liveview right-handed on the 5d3? Why on earth are the usual buttons not allowing for this? Seems like a fatal flaw for live view focusing on that body. My 5d2 could be set up for nearly complete right hand operation.

Now the 6d looks even better than the 60d which had the best live view user interface of any camera out there. zooming in live view can still be done with one hand and the button is even easier to access. It appears. Correct?

Am I missing anything here? I would still possibly prefer the 5d3 if there is any way to get around this absurd limitation. Will any firmware update address this issue?

You can program a variety of buttons for the zoom function. In my instance, I have programmed the 'SET' button inside the lower/aperture wheel to perform this function, which is accessible from my right hand.

I would imagine the 6D allows for this as well, though I don't have any experience with it to confirm that.

Is that for live view zoom or playback zoom? Or both?

Can you set another button for playback on the right hand? I had my 5d2 set button set for playback.

Thanks for your info and assistance.

Not sure, I use it for live-view zoom. I only zoom on image playback, but I assume it does zoom on video as well.

I think the only button that can be used for playback is 'SET', so it's one or the other.
