Edward, Any word on the focus assist beam being updated to something stronger?

All seems good with these lights so far, i'd really like the dual ability of on camera and off to replace my 600's.

Btw - Just noticed this above, seems the 180 and 360 have different beams? Or just different covers with the same emitters? Forgive me if this has been covered before, i haven't been in this thread for months.

Marcel: At least you actually got an answer out of Disnet even if it was inconclusive. They can't even be bothered answering my several emails (could be the Dutch/English lanuage business but I doubt that given your education system) or my VAT-registered application for a business account.

Regarding the colour-correction to the Mushroom/Chinese Lantern AD-S17; it could possibly be that they weren't even aware that there had been a problem with the original. As far as I'm aware, this was a problem discovered by Edward and his customers at CheetahLight and pushed back to Godox for attention. Other suppliers may not be quite as 'in the loop' over perceived shortcomings - very few manufacturers are willing to advertise the fact that they got it wrong!

No sign of the Godox Cells IIC from the British distributors either, to save you looking. I have one and it works beautifully on my 5D Mk III - now all I need is some sunshine to HSS with. It's all very well testing something at f/1.2 but I don't necessarily want to shoot everything with no depth of field at all.

I think that Disnet is only accepting resellers in the Netherlands. Did you sent them an e-mail or used the dedicated web-form?
http://disnet.nl/index.php?page=klantenservice (external link) and you have to choose "Ik wil dealer worden" on the first line.

The first time I mailed them it took a while before I got an answer and now it takes not long to have a reply.

In the Netherlands even the kids in kindergarten have English lessons. I speak three languages. I also could have learned French at school making it four but I choose to go for learning to work with computers.

Well, I'm going to RMA the CL-180 and the cables. Seems like there's a problem with the CL-180 as well. It happens. I'll be taken care of.

Jim - You have both Cheetah models, correct? The 360 & 180?

Was the previous shot taken with 180's or 360's?

BTW - incredible shot!

Same lights different cover.

Just my speculation, but I doubt you will see any great change to the AF light until the flashes go TTL. Again that's just my speculation, but I think its obvious they are headed that way.

I suggested they swap the the 360 AF lights for bright as possible LED's for modelling and video light (as the 360 won't be used on camera much). 180 needs an auto AF light with contrast projection (which would come with TTL).

I have 3-160's and 1-360. None of them were set to full power. I think I had the 160's set to 1/4 power.

I'm sure Edward will take care of you, I just wish we knew what was the culprit, I am probably not shooting as much as you do but out of all the shots I have taken so far I haven't had a single misfire yet (to knock on the wood).

Hey guys, sorry if this has already been answered, but what is the difference between godex and cheetah? Is Cheetah just rebadging and reselling goddex products, and if so is there any difference at all between the goddex and cheetah products?

Lastly, anyone know if there is a retailer selling these in New Zealand, or even Australia?

I can't help you with that.

Thanks for that, Marcel. It seemed so unlike the normally hugely courteous Dutch not to reply, this explains it. Yes, I tried both email and the dedicated web-form.

I am very aware of the rather more enlightened Dutch educational system. It's a peculiarly British trait to assume that everyone speaks English and if they don't understand, to just SPEAK LOUDER. Personally, I've always found I get a far better response if I do at least try (haltingly) to use the local language. I'm ashamed to admit that, sometimes, I resort to the "point-smile-nod" mode ( I can point in 168 languages  ) but even that is unwelcome in some cultures.

Bedankt voor de verduidelijking (Courtesy of Google translation).
