Made my own extension bar for the CL360, haven't tried it yet, but just wanted to be able to use it indoors and would let me tilt the soft box. Sorry for the terrible cell phone pics, i m hoping to get a good camera some day;)

Do not use that flash plate.It'will break!!!

Are you talking about the Dowl or the Plastic foot the Cl360 is attached too?

The Plastic mounting plate come with the CL-360.We plan not to ship with the CL360 any more....

Already have some customer drop the light and break the flash tobe.....

If I knew what was breaking I'm sure we could make some stronger or better.
maybe some thing simple like a velcro sleeve holder with 1/4 20 thread like this or remolding the bottom plate with re-forced metal.

A slit modification of THIS (external link) would work well. I have 4 of these that I use with speedlites. They work great for getting the flash tube close to the center of the modifier.

Wouldn't take much of a mod to make one that would work with the CL-360
