I was using a 18" reflector kinda like a maxilite for the elinchrom system. I wanted to go as basic and light as I could.

The more I use 360 the more I understand how to use it. I like that its super light weight easy to carry. I had no misfires with the triggering system. Since I'm not use to using it I need to learn my distance like I do with my quadras.

The more and more I use the more and more I like it.

I'm just jumping in on this flash. I've been reading through most of this thread but have a couple of questions.

What modifiers do you recommend for th CL 360 light kit? If I read right, I think people are using THIS (external link)one (Westcott 43" Apollo Orb).

Also....in order to do High Speed Sync with the 360, I will need a different trigger system, is that correct? I currently have the YN 622c triggers that are capable of HSS, will these work with the 360?

They seem to work well with the Apollo-style modifiers. If you don't need a big soft light source you could also use the 19" Cheetah foldable octa/BD. The beauty of that is quick setup and the fact that you can simply use the accessory mount on the flash without an extra bracket. A few pages back, David F. has shown example of the bigger SMDV 70 diffuser mounted in the same fashion.

As for HSS, yes you can use your YN622c triggers. They are 1/3 of a stop less efficient than the Cells IIc triggers according to elv (external link).

I was wondering if a Fresnel Lens could be cut to fit the standard reflector to concentrate the beam. Particularly thinking of being able to use this flash for On Camera Bounce during event photography - Anyone has any thoughts or experience?

Scott,

Beautiful photo - can I be nosy and ask what processing you used to enhance it. Any hints would be fantastic but I don't want to pry any propriety secrets from you.

All I do is remove the grey from the image, but it looks pretty much the same straight out of camera. You can see my blah videos on editing on youtube.

I love your work, especially your bridal portraits!

Can I ask a favor...could you give a quick explanation of how you balance your light with the 360's and daylight? For example...do you expose for the background then use a light meter to determine the proper exposure on your subject?

Scott, I can't see your "blah videos on editing on youtube" since I can't find them. Any help? None of my searches found anything.

Fantastic! Mind sharing the exposure settings? Did you use HSS for this?
