Took the Cheetah Lights into the studio yesterday afternoon.

Main light right over camera had two CL-180s in a Cheetah 50" soft box. They are set to the same group so I could control them as a single light. I used that technique to get better light dispersion around the really large center shaft on the modifier.

Two kickers, one on each side back, each with a CL-360. They were each in a 60cmx60cm umbrella frame soft box. None of the boxes had diffusion panels on them.

The CL-180s were at 1/8th power, the CL360s were at 1/16 power. all were about 5 feet from the model. They were about 6, 10 and 2 on a clock face with model in the center. There was a silver reflector bouncing some of the main light up under her chine for fill.

Exposure was 1/200, F8, ISO 200 on a 5DIII with 24-70L II. This was shot at 70mm.

I had seen a Joel Grimes video describing how he lights models to get a porcelain look to the skin. So I was playing around with that.

Looks more from the shoot but NSFW. Some of them will show up in the Glamour section when I get a chance to finish processing.

This is straight from the camera accept for cropping.

I reckon people should just not post for a week after Jesus posts images.

Even if they were good shots it'd be a bad idea.

You're probably right, Scott or Trent would be the exceptions.

No you complained about warranty and how would I get it fixed if it breaks.

Denial and selective memory have always been a very powerful combo. Still I did tell you so.

David in your case porcelain skin probably needs to come from processing, all i see here is you've blown out the highlights in the skin, drop the exposure down a bit and process this, why show us something out of the camera like this anyway

Indeed it is better that only Jesùs post pictures in this thread, all other work from other members are not worthy to stand is his flash shade.

Nicely Done Scott.
Since you use the quadra and the AD 360, is there a situation that you prefer one over the other. Outside of the power difference they seem to both be very portable, So I 'm curious what would make you choose one over the other. OR does it come down to not the light itself but the modifier/stand??

Good question Gary

The 360 is more portable, lighter, and it can shoot longer on a full charged battery then the quadra. I have shot well over 3000 images on PB960 Battery Pack and its only dropped one bar. I couldn't do that with the quadras on the old lead-gel batteries. With the L bracket and a Bowens mount, I can use the Elinchrom to Bowens adapter to mount any modifier using those two insert rings. This is do to the 360 being able to slide into any length. The E bracket only allows a short travel. This produces lose of light do to the head sitting back outside the box. The quadra is like the E bracket you can only use Elinchrom inserts or the head will be back to far.

They both do the same thing and both work well for most jobs. The only thing I don't like just because I'm so use to the quadra is the 1/3 power control. I just need to learn to count 123 instead of 1 thru 10 to drop a stop.

If I want to pack small and light for run and gun the 360 is what I will take. If I going to be setup in one spot all day then I will take the quadras.

All and all the quadra has more limitations then 360. I'm using the old quadra batteries, so I can't give my full opinion between the two.

If the 360 was a true 400ws then 300ws I would go all 360. Plus trigger is more reliable then the skyport.

I hope that answers your question

Wow Great answer !!

It does answer my curiosity, I was guessing that the battery would be equal on the two. I was thinking of also getting the Godox version of the Quadra, but wasn't sure on the bracket to adopters , so what you wrote really helps me out.

Thank You
