Nice Dave. I think I may get one of those to hang my Quadra and Ranger RX batteries.

Would you like to buy a vowel?
Go ahead, spin the wheel.

I'm accross the canal just south of Ballard, the town Seattle usurped in 1907.

Am I the only one that had his battery packs come with a neck strap that you can hang off the light stand?

The strap is too wide to hang off anything on my lightstand. I wanted something more fixed so it's not going to move around when I'm carrying the lightstand.

Falcon Eyes CL-35 or two for the price of one CLD-35. I can even hold the battery up-side-down and it won't come off.

Great -- just what I was looking for -- thanks!

The Falcon Eyes CLD-35 is a double C-clamp. The clamps can be separated at which point you will have two PERFECT battery holders. This is the CLD-35:

I use the Adorama-branded version of the CL-35F (http://www.adorama.com/RGCZCL35F.html (external link)) with the 5/8" receptor removed:

:

If you don't need the 5/8" receptor (and have multiple batteries), the CLD-35 is potentially the better alternative than the CL-35F but note that Adorama ships their CL-35F free but charges shipping for the CLD-35:

I love the visuals -- thanks Tetrode!

Why don't extend the thinnest section a bit of the stand and put the clamp on that bit.

Then you could glue a collar on or just wind a lot of tape to create enough thickness.

I could or could go out to the machine shop and cnc cut me a custom clamp or I can just hang it like it is in the picture.

Would that be not more expensive and for the second option then you have to move clamp each time you extend the stand. The curled cable is nice but a little bit heavy and that is why I like the straight cable with velcro cable binder.

You could also hang it at the end of the flash holder and so have also a small counterweight.

or you could pick up some cheap spring clamps which do the job just fine and won't let your battery bang around when you move the stand.

Only thing would cost me is time to build it since I have scrap aluminum and a machine shop.

Thats why i opted to go this route.

Life is not fair. Got enough time but no machine shop and no scrap aluminium. :)

Hanged that way it adds more wore weight to that side by the way.

I am not a fan of using a spring clamp because of danger scratching the finish of the stand. I have used velcro cable holders to fixate the battery before I got the FE CLD-35.

Here
just made this so it will mount to the holder.
You can see how small my run and gun stand is with optional fold out extension legs.
