Is anyone using the Cheetah large softbox 50 inch and can it be used with a strobe like Einstein if needed?

Not really relevant to the subject of this thread but the answer is a qualified "yes". Qualified because, while the Einstein can be physically mated to the 120cm x 120cm indirect softbox (assuming that's the one you're interested in), it cannot be positioned as far into the modifier as one would like:

IMAGE: http://f.cl.ly/items/2Z2M3x3b3a322U1T1E24/Einstein_120x120_1.jpg

The big Apollo-type softbox is a bit of a challenge to work with because the central umbrella shaft is made with two diameters: An 8mm outer section and a 17.5mm inner section:

IMAGE: http://f.cl.ly/items/1L0o0U0H2T360o290u1L/Einstein_120x120_2.jpg

The Einstein (and other strobes with umbrella tubes sized for 8mm shafts) can only be moved into the softbox up to the point at which the umbrella shaft flares out to the larger diameter.

So, yes, studio strobes can be used just, perhaps, not optimally.

It makes me wonder if you really would need 2 360's in there if you wanted to use it outside or for a group of people.

If you really need 600Ws, I think two 360s are a better solution in this particular softbox than an Einstein or similar:

One of THESE (external link) is perfect for the 50" soft box.
It gets all the flash tubes well into the modifier.
And with a Paul C Buff mini-boom offers nice tilting options.

Scott,
You really need to stop posting these. I am going through both model and skill envy.

(I guess I need to step up my game!)

The CL-Tx (FT-16) trigger is a center pin fire hot foot trigger.
It should work without a problem on any ISO hot shoe with a center pin fire pad.
