Great Bracket faster setup time and less packing space. Fits most all brands of flash heads. Alot of people are worried about over tightening or the flash falling out. You can tether the flash to the bracket using some para cord or other creative ways.

If in the USA if you buy from cheetahstand it might cost a bit more then EBay. What your paying that extra for is no worry warranty and customer service. All cheetahstand models are screen printed with the logo on the front face.

I like mine a lot. Using them for v850s and AD-360s. Only reason I got them on Ebay is because that was the only place that had them.

That said, most of the ebay places are in China or HK, so it may take a while. I'd definitely go with Cheetah when he has them in.

These are actually now in the Cheetah store. They are cheaper than what I paid on ebay.

Ed got them in a while back and had to wait for new handles, since they were sent without ratchet handles. They had a cheaper screw in handle that would not ratchet and you couldn't tighten with out pull off the modifier to crack the handle to tighten and lock onto the spigot.

Ed will not put the cheetah brand on the item or sell it if it up to his quality control.

I enquired about these last week. Sounds like a good chunk of them are sold without them being officially announced. Waiting to see how much shipping to Canada will be.

Perhaps a stupid question, but would a CL-600 work in an Apollo style softbox? Do these types of lights throw off a lot of heat?

My modifier selection is extremely limited right now... A 2x3 Apollo knockoff and a 40" 2 in 1 umbrella. Wondering if I would have to immediately factor in a softbox on top of the $600ish plus shipping of the light. And alas, if only the CAD was still high...

Non have been sold yet by cheetahstand. They will be announced at the Texas show this month 3 units will be used and on display. There is not enough heat to affect or damage your Apollo softbox and will work great.

Perhaps sold was the wrong word to use. I realize they are not out in the wild, but it sounds like many know about them already and wish to purchase. I think "spoken for" is what the correspondence sounded like.

Looking forward to the official announcement and reviews from users.

I was more worried about damaging the light instead of the softbox. Traditionally, it seems strobes hang out the back of a softbox. Is this more for access to controls instead of cooling issues?

The head should be fine inside the apollo box since it has a led modeling lamp. Modeling lamps need to vented more then flash tubes do. Most modifiers have the strobe out the back more for access. If i use an apollo style softbox/octa I shoot with out the front diffuser unless im in wind or rain. The light from the indirect is more soft and even and I don't need the front diffuser to kill a stop of light.

Is this worth trading from Einsteins?

I'm just tired of lugging around big strobes.

Are you asking about the Cl-180/360 or CL-600? The CL-600 doesn't look much smaller than an E640.
