Today arrived the s-type speedlite bracket and I had little test with an original reflector from Bowens.

The bracket looks very nice is sturdy enough to hold bigger softboxes in place. The connecting bit to the lightstand has an metal tube inside the plastic so the plastic will not break after a lot of usage.

The bracket leaves lots of space around the s-fit of the Bowens outer ring but the inner ring is almost exactly the same diameter. When the reflector is locked it can be moved in all directions but will not come out if not the unlocking handle is used and the reflector is rotated.

I have a CL/AD360 from Godox and I am not pleased that there is not more room for the locking screw on the head of CL/AD360 and I can't put in the flash death in the middle and have to slide it a bit to the side opposite to the locking screw.

The flash is hold very sturdy so I can slide the flash to the back or more in the reflector if not obstructed by the locking screw on the head.

I run a fast test with the power on 1/4 and distance 120cm or 4 feet and the reflector was a Bowens BW-1865 without grid.


I got 11.2 as reading but I could improve that to 12.7 by dissembling the 180 degrees diffuser and put the metal part into the reflector so less light could escape through the back of the bracket.

It would be nice if Godox also made those metal tubes with a plate that fit inside reflectors and speedrings and so increasing the used light generated by the flash.

In the picture you see the metal part that came form the 180 degrees diffuser and so you can see the offset to middle to speed-ring. I have pushed the speed-ring down as it would be if there were a softbox or heavy reflector used.

cl-600 and cl-360 love the trigger system

I would love a improved trigger system. She got a nice big bumm on the picture.

I saw a higher Kelvin value when using the 180 degrees diffuser and I try to test more Godox accessoires on usability when using more than one flash.

I have now run a test with different modifiers measure the flash power, colour temperature and I have also noted the max. white measured.
I have also made SCP (colorprofiles) based on a Canon 5D MKIII that can be used for Adobe RAW converter to balance all colours. This also was base for determining roughly the colour temperature.

Underneath each picture I put first the Kelvin value, tint correction, max. white R/G/B, F value and colorprofile link. You can also look at the shadow from the Colorchecker if the light is wrapped around. A nice feature is the LCD TV in the background and the reflection gives also a idea how the light is formed/emitted.

@mmm with all the measurements in mind, wouldn't the lens and distance add/subtract from your test?
