I believe the "Flashpoint" badged version is on sale at Adorama right now at a hefty savings from their regular pricing. Just saying.

Thanks for this. I love Ed and I bought my last CL-360 from him, but $600 for a 360, battery, and triggers is too good to pass up!

I had received an email from Adorama yesterday and the flash was featured as part of the promotional sale.
Perhaps you could visit adorama.com. Sign up for their email notifications for future promotions. And while you're there search the site for Flashpoint StreakLight.

Full disclosure. I am not affiliated nor do I receive any monetary compensation for posting about Adorama or any other web site.

I'm just trying to be helpful when I can.

why are these so frequently rebranded..? hard to find really solid reviews on 180 vs 360 vs other alternatives for hyrbids/strobes..

question to people who own the 180 and 360: Is the 180 sufficient for outside shoots? How close do you need it to have to the subjects? For people with the 360 version, do you often shoot at full power, or power it down?

Exactly where I was going to point to. 293 pages may be a touch daunting but this very thread contains one or two quite pleasant little snaps ;)

Reviews? I'd look here first, they are as thorough as anything you'll find:

I am having a issue with my 360.

For some reason it just won't fire wirelessly.

The channel is set properly on the receiver and transmitter.

I can change settings on the transmitter and the flash LCD screen is updating. (LED is blinking on receiver whenever I push a button on the transmitter)

However when I hit the Test button on the transmitter/camera shutter the flash will not go off.

Hitting the test button on the actual flash it will pop.

Any ideas?

1. Try a different channel.
2. Power-cycle flash and transmitter.
3. Make sure battery is fully charged.

When I received my order from Cheetahstand I got a bad battery, Edward promptly sent me another one. I thought all was good , but Edward asked me to test it to his standards.

Here is the Edward test: 50 pops on full power as fast as it recharges. I could only get 32 (2 attempts) and it would fall into "Overheat safe Mode", Edward asked if the top part of the battery was hot and it was.
He tested a new battery pack and shipped that out immediately and a free 2 into one cable along with a shipping label to send back the two packs. All of this the day he received his last order and doing a trade show in Dallas!
So if your battery won't go 50 pops on full you have a bad pack.
Thanks again Edward!!

I figured it out.. was just a faulty connection with the USB wireless receiver on the flash.
