Very nice camera system. I have it, XE2 and X Pro 1. THIS (external link) was shot with the XT1 and XE2.

Looks like the XT1 does an admirable job....at least in the right hands:) Very tempted to get one to "lighten" the load for parts of the wedding day. My biggest concern is the lack of dual memory cards. Nothing's perfect....at least not yet.

Whats it look like with the extender on there? I'd snatch up a half dozen of those extenders if Ed started selling them.

Has anyone tried one of these to hang their battery off a light stand?

I know Ed sells one, but this might do the trick for $10 less.

Drill out the rivets and you have two clamps that fits perfectly. 'Two' for the price of $ 9,95.

I use them for my battery packs and also others:

Are the CL-TE and CL-TEV any different or is it a typo?

I have several of these and they work great. I had purchased these before Edward offered the Cheetah brand.

Looks like the XT1 does an admirable job....at least in the right hands:) Very tempted to get one to "lighten" the load for parts of the wedding day. My biggest concern is the lack of dual memory cards. Nothing's perfect....at least not yet.

My 5DIIIs have dual card slots. I have the CF recording full raw and the SD recording medium raw. With the X system cameras, I just went back to my earlier practice of using cards that capture about 250 images. That forces me to have multiple cards for an event.

Realistically, I've only had one card fail in the last 7 or more years. I ALWAYS format the card in the camera and NEVER delete images from the card with the camera.

The other "safety" consideration is that with the 5DIII, since its big and heavy with a 24-70, 24-105, or 70-200 mounted I use one camera and change lenses. With the X system, XT-1 with 56mm and XE2 with 23mm it just as easy to have two cameras.

For the engagement shoot I had one in the bag and the other in my hand. I also had the 55-200 in case I wanted some long focal length shots. That kit was less of a burden than the Canon kit.

Here is a first look shot from a wedding last Friday.
CL-360 with 16" foldable beauty dish and diffusion sock.
Its just outside the frame on the right primarily to light the bride and groom.
XT-1 at 1/250 and whatever F stop was required for the ambient. Light was probably about 1/4 power. That's where it seemed to be most of the day as a fill.

The x sync speed for the XT-1 is 1/180th. I found I can cheat it up to 1/250 when using the CL-360/600 for fill since the ambient exposure is close enough to mask the shadow from the curtain at the bottom of the frame. One just has to be careful about subject placement.

Your sample photo's look just fine. Even though memory cards are very reliable, it's hard to ignore the "comfort" factor of dual slots. I'm usually dragging 30+ pounds of gear around in a roller bag, so something smaller & lighter (like the XT-1) is certainly appealing. Definitely agree with ALWAYS using the camera to format cards and NEVER deleting images on-the-fly.
