It does hit my forehead a bit though :).

I'm sure Edward will be happy to hear the CL-360 can take that sort of extensive abuse.

Also, is the cable that connects the PB-960 battery to Canon 580/600 EX the same as the Quantum CZ-2 cable? I have Quantum Turbo T3 and I tend to get around 12-18 months from the CZ-2 cables. They're expensive! If the PB-960 cables are a match, I'll buy a bunch of them.

Thanks in advance

The plugs are the same but, if I remember right, someone found that there is a problem. Don't remember if its the Quantum cable on the Cheetah Battery or the Cheetah Cable on the Quantum battery.

Naturally, Cheetah cable on Cheetah battery works fine.

Hi this question has probably been answered somewhere in this 305 page thread, but the search function doesn't take me there.

Question to owners of Cheetah/Godox 360:
Is this unit too heavy to mount on a hotshoe? Will it tear the top off my 1D Mk4 or 5D3?

Also, is the cable that connects the PB-960 battery to Canon 580/600 EX the same as the Quantum CZ-2 cable? I have Quantum Turbo T3 and I tend to get around 12-18 months from the CZ-2 cables. They're expensive! If the PB-960 cables are a match, I'll buy a bunch of them.

If you have a multimeter you can compare to your current cable it with this information:

https://photography-on-the.net …p=16215809&postcount=2255

The Canon cable is using only two of the socket-holes which connects to the flash. Socket-hole 2 goes to DIN pin 5 and socket-hole 3 goes to DIN pin 6+7+shield.

Socket-hole one is not connected and that one is the closest to the cable and three is at the end of the connector.

Good to see that you followed my suggestion to come to this topic and I hope that you can now meter if the connections are the same on your Quantum cable and the Godox Cx cable.

Man! Now I can't decide if I want one of these or an Alien Bee 800. I know for portability the CL-360 wins but modifier options I feel like the AB's win there. Ugh! It's a big choice.

360 will handle any modifier the AB800 can handle, just have to have the right insert ring or bracket.

For sure. The new S bracket or the Cheetah Pro bracket are great for mounting any modifier designed for a moonlight or pack-head. The only thing you have to do is get an S type adapter ring for the modifier. There are lots of options at B&H, Adorama and other sources.

So, I would have to get a cheetah pro/s bracket and then get an adapter ring if i wanted to mount a PCB HOBD to the AD-360?

Yup Yup
Your going to have to figure a way to mount an insert ring since the HOBD don't have any insert ring screw. Like either drilling 4 holes and using rivets, bolt and thumb screws, or magnets.

I second this. Seldom do I get to see amazing wedding photography, so your photos, Jesus, are definitely refreshing. Totally loved the juxtaposition with the paintings of Our Lady of Mt Carmel and St Agatha.
