Has anyone found a quick and easy way to gel one of these bare bulb units? I picked up the colored gel set that works with the standard reflector with the thicker sheets than typical gels to play with color effects. I would like to pick up half and full CTO as well but I'm afraid typical thin gel sheets would be too flimsy to try to cut and use in that type of mounting system.

I attached velcro to the reflectors and simply velcro my gels to the outside of the reflector. If I'm not using a reflector, I roll my gels into a tube and wrap them around the bulb. Works like a champ.

Thanks. Guess I was overthinking it. Do you not run into heat issues with the gel "tube" wrapped right around the flash tube? I guess not though if you haven't had issues to date.

I have made them for usage in octa soft box and you have search in this topic for it. I have stated sizes and how to insert.

how accurate is the meter on these batteries. I feel like it doesn't gauge very well. It goes from full power to three lights to out of juice it never really goes past 3 lights. Is that pretty standard for everyone else?

Mine does thru all the lights from full to 0 power.

The new prices for Cheetahstand 360

L4500 $215.00
CL-360 Head $390.00
CL-360/L4500 $520.00
CL-360+L4500+ CL-RX $540.00
CL-360+L4500+CL-TX/RX $560.00

The prices with 1 year warranty USA. You can buy lower on A$%#@&, but your option are exchange or refund in 30 day and after that you have to send back to factory for warranty. (shipping costs overseas and wait time)

That depends to the quality of your batterypack. I have three packs and one is a dream and it seems I can't exhaust it. One is with hardly any use back to three LED's and recharging is short and the end voltage is only 2.1 Volt and dropping each recharge. This one is going for exchange and this my second bad batterypack.

The third seems OK but not as good as the dream batterypack.

+1

A very competitive price level to obtain Edward's legendary customer support!

I should mention most places only give 7 day contact and return policies.

I don't have one do to it being too small for the things I shoot and would be a waste of money.

I did a google search and this review came up that might help ya.

I really like it as a hair light using the grid, but the whole thing falls off after 30 minutes when facing downward. The knob is tight but doesn't help. Could just be mine and I will use some gaff tape next time. It also tested well for food and boxed products. It's the perfect size for that. However, I still use strobes, speedlites and other modifiers for such assignments rather than the AD360. It might be handy for the right job some day.

I have used the 12"BD as a hair light and for accent lighting.

Thanks for all your opinions. I feel like I would need something bigger than 12" possibly. I've heard some stuff about the foldable BD, is that any good/bigger?

I want to add to ALL those opinions that the 19" octa with grid is the next option.

Any other owners of the flash set having this variation in quality of the batterypacks?

Nope. I have two (Godox branded, bought before Lencarta started importing them under their 'Atom' brand) and they both fall into the "What on earth do I have to do to empty this thing" category. Totally reliable, they seem to be identical twins in every respect - in fact I've even labelled them to tell them apart, just on the off-chance that one starts playing up.

Phil ǁ Kershaw Soho Reflex: 4¼" Ross Xpres, 6½" Aldis, Super XX/ABC Pyro in 24 DDS, HP3/Meritol Metol in RFH, Johnson 'Scales' brand flash powder. Kodak Duo Six-20/Verichrome Pan. Other odd bits over the decades, simply to get the job done - not merely to polish and brag about cos I'm too mean to buy the polish!
