I received my godox version two days ago and took it out yesterday but couldn't get HSS to work. I set the light to HSS and I used a yn-622c for the trigger, mounted on the foot. I used this with my 6D, any suggestions?

I know with Nikon you have to enable it in the camera menu also. There was some discussion in the thread earlier that you may want to try.

I believe you need to hook up the 622 via sync cord to the flash. Mounting on hot shoe doesn't work.

Oh, ok, I'll try that. Thanks!

A couple of months ago I decided to upgrade from cheap wireless triggers and speedlights to something "decent". I initially had Elinchrom Quads in mind, then discovered the Godox range. Long story short, I bought 2x 360 units, cellsII trigger, and a couple of Y-cables.

I have used them twice in anger, once in the "studio"...
https://photography-on-the.net …/showthread.php?t=1390183

...and another single use on location.
https://photography-on-the.net …/showthread.php?t=1395681

With the understanding that I have no experience with other strobes, here are a couple of observations from those couple of times I have used them:

They seem solid, but use the 1/4 mounting sockets at the swivel end for mounting to the lighting stand if you have a large modifier attached. (Anything is a universal mount if you have enough zip-ties and gaffertape)

Recycle time is brilliant compared to speedlights. Buy the Y-cable that allows both battery pack outlets to recharge the one head, and it becomes twice as brilliant.

No more worrying about f'n AA batteries. I have deliberately not recharged one of the battery packs, it is telling me it is still over half full ~1000 pops.

Haven't used the HSS yet, but notice it only works on 1/8 power and stronger.

In short, I bought these units because they were an extremely cheap alternative to the current raft of expensive portable strobes, and I did so with the understanding they may not live up to expectation and I'd need to buy an expensive one anyway, but I have not been disappointed and do not need to spend any more money on lights for a while yet :)

A tip for the ones that did know it yet.

When using the 1/4 mounting put a thick rubber washer on the 1/4 screw so when putting on the flash you can simply get it in the correct direction without having to fear that it will come loose.

I use a umbrella holder to angle my flash so I can leave the head of the flash itself at a fixed position.

I have some pictures that are made with the help of a Godox AD360 and they are in the glamour and nude section. It are the last four pictures in the set.

when i first saw that the 360 came with those things i though "why would i ever want to do that?" Lately i'm rethinking that whole line of thought. Your tip might push me to try it out.

sliding the foot into a coldshoe bracket can be a PITA, I will never put the flash in my camera's hotshoe, and the 622 HSS hack requires the PC sync port anyway. Is there any reason for me to NOT put that thing on my two flashes?

This forum is a godsend ....Convinced me to place my order for a Cheetah CL360..

I purchased the CL360 combo that include the trigger set. My question is that I also want to trigger a Nikon SB910 what additional trigger should I purchase?

Nikon D800 with cheetah TX
CL360 with cheetah RX
Nikon SB910 - ???

I never use TTL and I use ND filters to help overpower the sun.. I did plan to purchase a Yougno 622n and use HSS instead of the ND filters. But what do I buy to trigger theSB910?

Thanks in advance

I use YN 603II in my camera hotshoe with the 360's FT-16 sitting in the 603. Triggers both my 580 and SB 90 just fine.

The 622 will enable HSS. There was some discussion on this just a week or so ago in this thread.

I just ordered 3 360s, brackets, battery hooks, etc. Seriously can't wait to receive it all and try it out next weekend at a wedding.
