This forum is a godsend ....Convinced me to place my order for a Cheetah CL360..

I purchased the CL360 combo that include the trigger set. My question is that I also want to trigger a Nikon SB910 what additional trigger should I purchase?

Nikon D800 with cheetah TX
CL360 with cheetah RX
Nikon SB910 - ???

I never use TTL and I use ND filters to help overpower the sun.. I did plan to purchase a Yougno 622n and use HSS instead of the ND filters. But what do I buy to trigger theSB910?

Thanks in advance

You can use the SB 910 optical slave, purchase the youngnou 622n's for all your lights or to keep it simple and all integrated purchase an cheetah light 850 to blend in with your setup.
Just remember the 622n will only serve as an triggering device for the 910. They are really inexpensive!!

Happy Shooting:lol:

Thanks I did some reading....I believe I have the correct understanding before purchasing TWO YN622n's

Nikon D800 / Yn622n/ cheetah TX on top of camera (will trigger both SB910 and CL360 and provide HSS for CL360)

Cheetah CL360 with cheetah USB trigger (will get HSS from yn622n on camera)

Nikon SB910 / YN622n ( will only trigger the sb910)

So I'll be purchasing 2 YN622n ? Does this sound correct?

Yes, that's correct. I use Nikon as well and use ad360's alongside my Nikon flashes with my 622n's. Terrific setup

I've been looking at a few modifiers and wanted your opinion on a few.

used the search function and found some samples with each size modifier:

buff 11" modifier

apollo clone softboxes: tldr: knockoffs have specular highlights. More efficient than apollo.

godox s7, it's small, (maybe too small??) good for walk around work, individual portraits. put's strain on the flash head.

http://www.ebay.com …ain_0&hash=item5af834ac6b (external link)
large all white softbox (eats quite a bit of light since the material inside is rubberized. super soft light) can't really angle downwards, only upwards. No light control. maybe too much to deal with running and gunning. Bonus, comes with a stand mount

http://www.ebay.com …%3D10%26sd%3D280758949229 (external link)
silver 32" but no bracket.

http://www.ebay.com …_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 (external link)
silver apollo style softbox "glow" series. Efficient. can't really angle downwards, only upwards. No light control. maybe too much to deal with running and gunning. Bonus, comes with a stand mount

http://www.ebay.com …_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 (external link)
Same as above, but comes with a grid which is a bonus.

http://www.ebay.com …ain_0&hash=item58b160f375 (external link)
S-bracket + softbox combo. Makes the stand a little more top heavy, the softbox is only 15"

http://www.ebay.com …_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 (external link)
Another apollo style softbox (might be a little too big? not much in terms of light control however when used vertically, there's much more evenness for full body portraits.)

--------------- unlikely candidates---------------

http://www.paulcbuff.com/plm.php (external link)
51" soft silver plm (too risky to use outdoors)

http://www.ebay.com …_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2648 (external link)
this is probably ruled out as I would need to purchase the godox speed bracket making this a $110 modifier.

The modifier would be mostly used for engagement shoots, so stability and light control are pluses.

for reference: I have white shoot through umbrellas, a very small bounce umbrella, plm 86" soft silver, and have a PCB beauty dish that I normally use with my einstein (which would be similar to the godox s7)

thanks!

I have 3 360's with the receivers and a transmitter. I also have a Nikon SB-700. Is there any way for me to have the SB-700 on camera while still wireless triggering the 360's via the transmitter? As far as I can tell, the 360's won't fire unless I have the transmitter on my camera which prevents me from using my speedlight on camera.

Thanks!

I think this option is probably the best...

TTL Flash On Camera – HSS Off Camera

Using some of the radio trigger combinations described above a TTL flash can also be mounted on the camera, while the Godox V850 / Witstro are fired off camera with HSS enabled.

YongNuo - YN622C and YN622N – TTL Flash mounted directly on the transmitter pass through hotshoe. FT-16 mounted on a YN622C/N receiver, or YN-622c/N receivers attached to all the Godox flashes as well.

- See more at: http://flashhavoc.com …ves/#sthash.1bRPdhcs.dpuf (external link)

If I'm understanding it correctly, I mount the YN622N to the hotshoe and my speedlight on top of that. I already have one YN622N so that part is taken care of. Then, it sounds like I need to buy three additional YN622N's to be able to fire all of the 360's while still triggering my on camera speedlight.

Is that correct?
