I bought the Nikon version of the Odin TCU and receiver. HSS fails miserably, just like with the PW's. Even worse, the V860 stops responding to the Odin trigger in an unpredictable manner. A power reset on the V860 is the only way get it working again. Firmware on the Odin's and V860n are current, and the V860n parameter for Auto Power Off is set to "disabled".

My Nikon SB-910 seems to work okay with the Odin's and the Pocketwizards, so it's apparent that the current release of the V860n is NOT a direct replacement for Nikon speedlights. Unfortunate, as there's a lot to like about the V860's.

The Cells II N is out for HSS and the Yn-622 N work well with the V860

Some text. The first picture is the FT-16 with a sync port and new to me the clip.

I can't make heads nor tails from the second picture. Maybe it a speedring insert with LED's on it.

Time is on our hand.

Jumping in time...top, the CL/AD360 and maybe the awaited TTL version on third picture there is a square LED so that can be the CL600/RS600P that should be due around now after many production holds.

Time will tell what they finally are.

4th photo looks like a collapsible beauty dish or octa similar to the Phottix Luna.

hint: It's not the modifier that is of interest. ;-)a

BTW, I think that fourth shot is the cheetah 43" octa

Likely solves a low light and focusing issue. How bright is it and is it self-powered?

Anyone expecting to use a V860n with a Nikon D4 in TTL mode should be aware of potential exposure issues. The image shown below demonstrates my experience.

ISO, shutter and f/stop were the same in each shot. A custom white balance was initially set using the SB-910. The far-right shot was taken with EC = +2 to get a proper exposure, but the color temperature is shifted by 400 degrees when compared to the SB-910.

To be fair, the D4 isn't listed on Cheetah's site as being one of the "confirmed" bodies. Using the V860n in manual mode, of course, is still workable.

Not sure why posting in a barebulb thread about v860. It shows on Godox website it not companionable with Nikon D4 anyway.

Edited: to Add the link where to post.

Can anyone recommend a softbox that will take 2 x Ad360s, other than the Westcott Apollo type?

Ideally something around 24" / 60cm that I can transport for wedding use

Thanks :)

I'm using the Profoto Speedlight Bracket with two AD360'th and Profoto Softboxes.
