So yes... for me two 360's and two 600RT is what I'm working with. I'm gonna pick up two of the YONGNUO YNE3-RX so I can command everything from the Canon Transmitter.
.

um, it won't control the 360s, right?

LOL

I use mine for tethering a tv on location / leaf blower /smoke machine/ lights , always good to have portable power on location work. I also use mine to charge the 360 batteries on location if i need too

What kinda mAH rating does the vagabond carry?

and I'm not sure buff recommends a leaf blower with the VML. They don't even want you to use modeling lamps.

personally for what I shoot I don't see the need for it. I shoot my kids, I'll go out and fire off 50-200 shots typically. I think the battery packs on the 360s will be just fine and I have a spare battery for them too. I really don't see me using multiple lights on location for a good while either but when I want to add I think my setup will support this.

Remember I'm not a pro and this is just a hobby, my intention was a smaller less space consuming setup that was a bit more portable. I can take my 450aw bag with both 360s, triggers, gels, reflectors some snoots with the 600rts and the speed light adapters and cords etc... all in one bag. I can't do the same thing with the alien bee's.

Yes... I lose modeling lights and now I rely on battery power but for the past two years I've been doing studio stuff I haven't shot more than 400 shots at a time and if it's indeed indoor then I'm usually around 1/16-1/4 power also.

Will I change my mind later?... sure I will. Vagabonds are cheap anyway so not really worried about it. Right now just trying to offload items consuming space. I'm tired of having so much clutter when I don't even use the stuff most the time.

No it won't... but it will trigger then via sync cord.... which will tie into the canon transmitter so I can turn them on/off from it. For power adjustments you just handhold the trigger to make adjustments and keep it on you or near you.

Thats actually lower than I figured. I'd thought it to be at least a 12000.

Ya the vagabonds are cheap, I could keep it... or sell it... oh well.

A few years ago I was in the market for the Vagebond mini. Sadly it was just to expenceive outside the USA so I never got a chance to buy it.

The mini has 4 cells parallel making 14.8 volt and the 960 is rated at 11.1 volt. The extra voltage of the mini it I think that it can be charged directly from a running car.

Not sure myself. I just know for what I do the simple battey packs of the cheetah types are great for me. I can fit two of them in my bag and still take less space. I don't do major shooting but have a spare battery just in case.

For now, I just got the stuff. I'll need to see how it works out after long term use but for now I'll ditch the buff stuff. No biggie, I can always buy more later.

I just use my vagabond mini for powering my hard drive and topping off my laptop as needed. I also have an Einstein 640 that I'll see if or if I won't use as key light/fourth light. 360's are quite nice and about half the size though.

Got the Cells IIC trigger working to 1/8000 on the 5d3. Beautiful. Might put off the expensive nd filters for the near future.

Didn't realize it was that low either. A bit bulky for that little battery, no?

Well it also has the inverter too. Just for me personally I don't see the need for power when I'm just taking photos of my kids and the battery packs for the 360s seem like it'll handle what I need.

I've never had any issues with my 430exII using it as a bounce flash, never ran out of batteries on it mainly because I always kept the battery in it charged. I suppose I plan alot.

The charger is not just a powersupply and is special made for charging Lion cells and in this case three parallel cells.

Better is to charge the spare battery while you are using the other one.
