You can always get the ST-E3 or the YN-E3 and control everything from it. You'd just have to buy the YNE3-RX for each flash but then you would get full control of the canon flashes and trigger the 360s also. It also allows HSS among all the other flashes (canon and 360 combined). You still have to use the FT-16 for remote power adjustments but you can turn on/off each flash from the E3 transmitter.

I have the Canon ST-E3, two 600RT and two 360s and I'm using two of the YNE3-RX to trigger the 360s from the Canon transmitter and by far this is the best seamless option out there. It's my new setup that I'm using for studio stuff as well.

Talley, Can you get HSS with the YN-E3 to the 360's?

The intent, as I understand it, is for the YNE3-RX, to provide a receiver for use with strobes and the 600EX-RT system.
That suggests that they will respond to a fire signal from a YNE3-RT or 600EX-RT speedlite acting as a master.

I attach the YNE3-RX to the bottom of the 360 flash via the YN's hotshoe. I then set the 360 to HSS. I then command HSS in the Canon ST-E3-RT and then it works. The YNE3-RX see's the firing command and triggers.

Ok I need some help. I've currently got a pretty good speedlight/strobist type setup. I've considered getting brackets to use two speedlights together in a box/umbrella, but I think this looks better and a lot more versatile.

But I'm confused about all the pieces needed. Given I have decent boom/lightstands but for everything I basically need to start over, what else is required and what else would you recommend:

Light itself
Battery
maybe some cables I see mentioned.
Ft something transmitter
Cells or YN 622 to add HSS
Modifier of sorts
bracket to hold it all.

Or things I'm missing.

I come here for your expert opinion. Please do not hesitate to critique or edit.

the combo deals generally come with the battery, cord, remotes (one Tx and one Rx), the standard 5" reflector and light.

it mounts to anything that will hold your current speedlights.

you can use the reflector with your umbrella and current set up or you can buy a new modifier. I use an A clamp to attach the battery to the stand.

and yes, it is definitely better than messing with multiple speedlights in one box. I use the 360's in conjunction with two speedlights for rim lighting or background light and it couldn't be simpler.

correct on 622, but you can also use it at full power with the included transmitter and it will "hyper sync", downside being you can't lower the power and still sync.

You can stack the CL-Tx on top of the YN622C and fire everything, if needed. I am currently doing this because I have some speedlights I use for fill. Less elegant than having everything on one trigger system, but the flexibility exists.

that works but sitting on top the 622 doesn't pass the early fire signal to the FT-16 for HSS.

right?
