The Occidental College baseball team played a game vs some alumni players today under sunny skies. I can't wait for the real season to begin. I took the opportunity to test my new 2x TC with my 300. I know it is impossible but my first impression is that these are sharper than my 300 alone. The following photos are all at 600mm. All in all, a very good day.

Those are great. Out of curiosity, in that second photo it looks like there's some dirt kicked up but it's around the pitcher's glove, what's that from?

And YES!!! Just a little over 2 weeks now 'till the start of college baseball.

Thanks. I'm pretty sure he's actually the second baseman who was digging a ground ball out of his glove for the throw to first.

So does Occi have a place for you to shoot from? I am trying to do JC baseball and it seems a lot of the fields at the lower NCAA levels and JC really do not have good spots to shoot from. Any suggestions?

I have a number of places I shoot from but I am always behind a fence, not out on the field. It can be a dangerous place. Foul balls com to you very quickly. I shoot from 1st base, 3rd base which is a low fence at the end of the dugout. I also shoot from behind the plate through the fence for pitcher photos.

At a JC field I shoot at I am also behind a low fence at the far ends of the dugouts.
