Welcome guys to the first ever Powershot-series POTN!

I thought this could be interesting, and maybe prove to other non-believers that our small P&S's can take quality pictures too when set in the right hands. :cool:

Challenge #1 - Ice

Ice, the heart of winter; beautiful to view, but a pain to drive in. This is pretty wide open, but lets see how well we can express the fabric of winter.

Post until Monday noon GMT, 16 January 2006

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'll PM Don to see if he'd mind editing some of the G-series rules and posting stickies of them in our forum for us.
Until then just read and follow these rules disregard anything about the G-series cameras as they are NOT allowed in this contest.
The subject poses a few problems for those of us not in colder hemispheres, and with out frezzers.
And how about changing the photo size to the forums standard of 800 on the longest side?
No need to limit ourselves.
OK, it's a bit of a stretch, but I'll send a link to a post in the "Nature" forum: https://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=122876
Sorry, can't access the data for it at the moment, but it would have been on full auto with my S2.
Nice Ice
This probably disqualifies me, but we have had no snow or ice since I got my Canon S2. I took this a couple of years ago with my Kodak 3400 - believe it or not. It is still a "small point and shoot" camera. I don't know what the settings were, I just pointed and shot!
I hope I'm still in the running.
Well...thats it - some nice entries, although I don't know whether the Kodak once counts (The rules clearly state it doesn't :D)
The only think missing is beesparkle, she has some really nice pics of ice she's posted :D
