35F2 discontinued?

The Digital Picture has the older 35F2 listed as discontinued. Canon still lists the lens in the lineup.
Does the DP know something that I don't?

Probably because the 28/2.8 IS and 24/2.8 IS resulted in Canon discontinuing the non-IS versions, and now the 35/2 IS is out.

Actuall since the IS versions cost like 3-4x the prize of the non-IS version, I don't see the point... :S

I found out the 35mm f/2 is not showing any more in the Japanese site,
last month I can still see "not much on stock",
so basically this lens discontinued
