Can a Feisol CT3144T handle a 100-400 with bracket & Flash?

Title says it all. Looking for a good tall travel tripod and it seems most recommendations are for the Feisol. However, I would like to be sure it can handle my largest lens prior to purchasing. Unfortunately, I live far from any locations that would stock this caliber of tripod, so there is no chance to go and try one out.

In searching I have found the Sirui M3204 which on paper exceeds the Feisol in every catagory, with the only negitive being the weight at 3.7 lbs/1.7Kg. and also about one inch longer retracted. The Sirui has 32mm legs vs 28mm for Feisol, so it is an apples and oranges comparison.

I am wondering if the Feisol will do the job, or get the bigger Sirui to be on the safe side. They both are very similar in price, so it doesn't factor in.

Oh, I do not plan on hiking with it. Just planes, trains and automobiles!

Guessing you mean the 3441T? It should have no problem with that set-up, assuming you're using an equally robust head.

Yes, I seemed to have transposed the numbers.

With the 100-400 I use the Mongoose 2.3 gimbal head which was made for the smaller 400mm lens. It works amazingly well on my Benro (its 26 inches long and not good for travel).

I have the 3441s and it is fine for my 100-400, but note that when you raise the center column, if it's breezy, you get some wobble. I attribute that to any small pod with the center column up though. It's not that the pod is unstable, but rather the size/weight of the lens combined withthe wind just torques the column to produce a rotational "vibration" at a certain frequency.

I have not had problems with the column down. I am using the Acratec GP-s head on this setup, and I am happy with the way it mates with these legs.

Upgrading from an Aluminum Benro to the CF Fiesol, the Feison is redicucously light. I would be worried about it blowing away at times if the camera was not weighing iit down.
