I'm just curious to hear others opinions on these shots.

I went on a hike at Bee Rock Trail and around the old LA Zoo and I took a few different kind of shots.

I like them. My only issue is the Branches in #4. My eyes immediately went to the people, but next thing were the branches. Overall though, I think you did a great job.

They are not bad. They feel a little snapshotish to me. It doesn't look like you put much thinking into each shot. Next time try to think a bit more about the shot. Use some of the rules of thirds and get different angles to the photos which in turn will look like you didn't just take out your camera and pressed the shutter button.
Good luck!

#4 is my favorite. It looks like a really beautiful place to visit. There are a lot of little things that distract from the story, though. The three backpacks, the seat the person on the right is sitting on, the branch; they all catch my eye. Also, the white buildings that are closest to the people (looks like a warehouse complex, maybe) aren't the most attractive buildings. Perhaps if you'd taken the shot from a slightly lower position, you would have gotten more mountain and less of a view of these closest buildings. It's also a shame that the clouds were throwing such a harsh shaddon on the mountain. Did you try applying a gradient there to see if you could boost the expose on the side of the hill a little? (Or maybe composite the foreground from #4 onto the background of #5?)

Thanks. The tree was relatively close to them. I also do find it distracting,

I'll try the gradient in LR to see what I can do. It was actually supposed to rain that day but the weather turned out better than I thought.

As far as the subject, I wish I could have had them move those things but they were just random people also enjoying the hike. Hah:lol:

LOL, guess that would have been awkward then.
