Sigma updates 30/1.4 (+ other lenses)

In addition to the 30/1.4, Sigma's also updating it's 19/2.8 and 30/2.8 MILC lenses for their 'A' range. A 60/2.8 for mirrorless is also announced.

Loving the direction Sigma has been going. I am very excited to see what they have in store for the future. New Sigma 50mm f/1.4 anyone?

The new Sigma 30mm f/1.4 almost makes me happy i didnt buy the 35mm f/1.4... I might give it a shot, it fixes my complaint on the original at least

Its a pity they only updated the one DSLR lens, but if its anything like a mini-35, its going to be awesome.

Well theres a limit to how much they can do after all..

But I'm quite excited for it, as i said, fixed my largest complaint on the Sigma 30, the MFD is now a lot closer and the MM is 1:6.8, i can live with that

The glass is not at the same quality of the 35 as you can see by the construction diagram. But with that said I loved my 30 when I had it and hopefully it will be a great lens for a large population of crop shooters. I really have 0 regrets in buying my 35 though.

I hope the 50 and 85 are next.

really into the new sigma line, just gonna wait and see IQ comparisons from the 30 and 35.

Waiting for that new/updated 12-24!

Yes, but being a DSLR shooter I want them to say screw "DN" lenses, lets just update 3 DSLR lenses instead.

I mean, they give mirrorless a whole new lens and 2 updates, but us poor DSLR users only 1 update

I guess I get it, mirrorless has less lenses available and they want to get in on the market.

It figures after I decide on the Canon 28mm as my APS-C prime and buy it, Sigma announces this. They've got that USB dock coming out too, which is great for people who don't have a camera with micro adjust (the majority of APS-C users, I'd say, since newer APS-C bodies lack it) and should fix Sigma's focusing woes, assuming the dock is an affordable product.

Speaking of pricing, I wonder what the new 30 1.4 will cost.

Not sure the 19mm and 30mm 2.8 needed updating; they are still relatively new and pretty good. But the new ones drove the price down on the old ones so I can't complain.
