I put this in the wrong place:

Basically I have CS with CR2.4 - and can't open the RAW files from my brand new 350D in Photoshop. Support for the 350D wasn't added until CR3.2. I think I'm just going to check out this Adobe Lightroom thing.

We still have this one issue, which I have not tried, and that is whether or not you can download the latest version of DNG, convert your RAW files (CR2) to dng and then load them into PSCS using the old ACRv2.4. My feeling is that you can do that.

In order for me to prove that it works, I would have to have a .cr2 file, which I do not have.

The things that make me think it will work are as follows:

The DNG converter is a stand alone program - not a plug-in. So, it ought to do the conversion regardless of what version of PSCS you have.

Now, once the conversion is complete, the ACR v 2.4 in PSCS v8.0 does seem to accept and open those DNG files, so why would it not do the job for you?

Bob, I'm 99% sure this will work, and is one of the biggest (and only, in my mind) benefits to using DNG.
