same thing with my sigma 30mm 1.4. just fires right away as soon as af is confirmed.

Is this a new problem or did your 60D always behave this way? If you switch the Sigma to AF (or switch any other AF lens you own to AF mode) does the shutter fire correctly or does it also fire as soon as focus is achieved?

It happens when i switch to manual on my sigma or when i use any of the m42's with the confirm chip. I feel like this is a new issue because I cant remember it acting this way when first got this sigma or the adaptor with the chip.

He's manually focusing, whether AF is set to back button or shutter button will make no difference.

thank you.

BBF will work as advertised. You press the BB to get focus confirmation and you shoot with the shutter release.

Manual focus.

No half press.

i mean, in a way this could be useful. fires when what ever focus point you pick achieves focus, especially since im always using my old lenses. It's just annoying that it busts off a round with out me even pressing the shutter all the way.

this doesnt work when your lens doesnt have any motors to focus.

I didn't say that BBF wouldn't work to get focus confirmation, but I don't see how it could help with the OP's problem, except maybe to test to see if he's pressing too hard on the shutter button, which he says that he is not.:)

No settings. I've been checking. I also spent time Googleing your problem with ANY Canon DSLR. So far no results. Still wondering if the adapter is somehow related. Did you try any EF or EFs lenses to see if they also exhibit the same problem? Does the chip adapter download or create a file on your SD card that might be the culprit? Try another SD card if you haven't already done so.

A few other long shots...This is a weird issue mediascheme, so bear with us as we try to sort through it.:)

1.) Are you using Magic Lantern?

2.) Are you using a grip(particularly non-OEM)?

3.) Are you using a non-OEM battery?

4.) Are you using the latest firmware?

Thanks for the help.

1. I am using magic lantern but it still happens when I switch to another sd with no magic lantern.
2 no grip.
3 original canon battery.
4 I'm on the latest firmware.
