Shot this on Sunday during a semi overcast day for my cousin, I'm kinda uphappy with the post processing, probably should have used to OCF... any ideas, also need some help with getting skin tones to be even colored, I have searched on here but haven't really found a great method that I like...

Shot at 1/320 F1.8 ISO100 with a 50mm 1.4

I saw image editing okay, so I thought I'd give it a try. I'm not very good at PP'ing people shots since I mainly shoot everything else but people, so I might have actually made your shot worse.

I think the original pic is good, might drop the exposure/ brightness a tad, and add a little more contrast to get more detail in the dress. In my opinion, the slight tanline on her arm is not a problem, i wouldn't fuss over correcting that, personally.

OP, I think you did a great job. So much of PP is personal taste. The only thing that caught my eye was what appears to be purple fringing along her tiara (or is that just a pink tiara?), and there is maybe this strange painterly quality to the bokeh. Was that straight out of camera or did you apply some sort of layer adjustment?

As for even skin tone color, I typically use a Hue/Saturation layer and will adjust the tones manually, but that's only if something is really distracting. Or if there isn't a lot of detail in the skin itself that I need to be worried about, I'll clone from an area where I like the skin tone and use a low opacity clone stamp.

Of all the PP you did, I actually think your skin tones are strongest element of the photograph. Maybe a tad overly bright, but again, that is a personal style thing sometimes. I'm still just a newb, but I think you did a great job.

I think the purple fringing looking stuff was because the tiara was shiny and glittery, as far as the Bokeh thats pretty much how it is SOOC, 50mm 1.4 does have some pretty awesome bokeh. I think I was simply dissatisfied because I should have used OCF to make the image pop a little bit more, but her and her mom were super happy with it and will be using it for her sweet sixteen printed 16x20.... sometimes I think I look at an image way too much and try to find so many things wrong with it....
