Cool shot, but you need to straighten the horizon.

I like it, I think if you straightened the horizon the gukll would look out of place, with the Gull being level, I think it works, nicely detailed with a great look!

Got to go w/ Mark here-often see the gulls angled upward in sort of a "stall" position. And if you level the faintly visible horizon, the surf would still be at a slight angle, I think. But I suppose this is the composition version of "pixel peeping". Go w/ what you like DM5!

You can correct the horizon by copying the horizon to another layer, blending the horizon to the sky/sea, and then pasting and horizontally aligning the horizon back on third layer.

Might require a bit of work but can be done, otherwise you risk changing the angle on the bird itself.

Great capture though :)

Thanks for all the feedback. Can't believe I didn't notice the horizon - face palm.

Was challenging to get a decent shot of the gulls with my 50mm 1.4. Went back and took a look at a few shots from that series and the composition does look "off". Hard to judge scale with only the gull and a blurred surf in the background.
