I use the Lee big stopper on the 24-70 II (5D3) And works like a charm.
Lee is one of the best big stoppers.

For me the Lee was the best bang for my buck.

For 82mm it's the best. It's too bad they made the 24-70 II a 82mm because for 77mm the B+W screw-in is much cheaper and easier to deal with.

The filter size is no problem. I'm happy that the 24-70 II has 82mm. So I have to buy only the 82mm. Because I also use the 16-35 II

If you are in the market for Big Stoppers or other 4x4 10-stop filters, thread size means little. 77, 82, whatever, it still needs an adapter ring and that ring costs the same regardless. 4x4 and 4x6 filters have the advantage of being mounted cheaply onto any size filter thread.

And with a 4x4 system you don't have to worry about screwing in a 10-stop filter and being blind without unscrewing. With a 4x4 you just snap off the holder, focus, compose, fiddle, and snap back on. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.

To answer the OP's question, yes, the BIG Stopper is probably the best. Though, with Hitech's recent change to their formula the difference isn't as dramatic as it used to be. Bang for the buck, check out Hitech's 10-stop Prostop 4x4. Which also has the advantage of actually be found on shelves.

Thats what i have, its great. its also one of the reasons i dont want to go to 82mm thread size lenses.

I was going to pick up the HiTech and ever with the reviews of magenta casting, I was fine with it and a little PP can fix it. But UniquePhoto recieved some and ended up with the Lee instead.
