My rebel fit in my chest pack with the 70-200 with hood on, but my 1D does not. Leaving the hood on allows me to skip the lens cap for the day w/out scratching lens in bag.
I figured I would just put my 17-55 hood on my 70-200 (shorter and will accomodate 1D + lens + hood), but it frustratingly doesn't fit.
So, is there a cheap solution for a shorter hood? Knockoff that will fit, but is shorter, or should I get a full-sized hood and cut it down?
Any DIY ideas? Gaffer tape and section from a plastic peanut butter jar? Hell cheap hoods cost about the same as gaffer tape (don't have any yet).
I'm not as interested in lighting benefits of the full hood (or I wouldn't be considering these options).
