So, I tought, since you guys and girls obviously care about what you are shooting with, I can imagine, you care also about what you are talking with.

I plan to get a new Smartphone, as with the current Motorola I am very unstatisfied.
I wish to ask, which Brand you guys think, is worth getting?

No I am *not* even considering an iPhone. :)

Well, I did not put the iphone there because I don't consider to buy an iPhone.
I understand thet the Apple systems are a closed system, and sine none of my friends have an apple product, I would not be able to share files wia Bluetooth, and such things with them.

So, sorry for all you iPhone users, I know it is a good product, but for me it would not be a good choice.

I've not seen anything that can beat the iPhone 5 in terms of camera. These are SOOiP (Straight out of iPhone :p) except for using the phone's built in 'HDR' function, and a crop. I think only one was cropped.

I wonder if the video editors on The Titanic ever went, "Sorry, I can't right now. I'm busy synching the Titanic..."

I voted for HTC because I've had my EVO 4G for over two years without ever having even a single issue. First time owning a phone that not only didn't become obsolete before my 2yr contract was up, but actually lasted the entire 2yrs without failing. I'm going on 30months now with the same device, and let me tell you, this thing has taken a beating. It serves for personal and business purposes on a daily basis with very heavy usage.

Really stunning images, but on the other hand, for Images I have my Canon :)
But again, I know iPhones are great devices, but I don't really have interest in buying one. :)

Well, if I had to pick from what's there, I'd choose Samsung... I've never used an Android much, but I think I've heard fairly good things about Samsung. I don't like how plastic some of those phones feel, but Again, I haven't had the chance to use them much.

I am a keen BlackBerry supporter - Blackberry or nothing for me.

I used a Pearl 8120 - then got a Bold 9900 (the Pearl still works actually) - and I can say they are reliable (as long as you don't drown them and try to blow the tea out... that was user error though, because two other spillages were perfectly fine).

And right now I am actually thinking about having a look at the Z10 - despite disliking touchscreens.

Oh, and did I mention that BlackBerrys are very secure? :)

I actually worked, at RIM, and serviced some Blackberrys, they are great phones too, they have the most beautyfull LCD displays I ever seen, amazing image quality.

But I am not quite sure about them (as with iPhone)

Few companies exhibit as much software incompetence and get away with it as apple... I can only imagine of Adobe being the other one...

Some pointers:
itunes performance in Windows is worse than abysmally insulting.
Not per se a problem, except if free open source software is smaller, lighter, faster and more stable as well as reliable. (Foobar, VLC, SMPlayer).
Quicktime shows malicious behaviour by adding itself to the autoruns dialog every time it is run, plus is dead slow and has bad performance (the digital picture claimed a 2,5GHz Core2Duo couldn't play 5D MK II video footage (in Quicktime) - my Vaio could, with the Vista Codec Pack. Else have a look at VLC, SMPlayer - free, lighter and faster.)
Finally: How do you take a Unix derived OS and make is LESS secure than the product it was derived from? (Because that's what the apple OS is...)

Oh, and my comment about Adobe:
Why on Easth do I need to download the whole damned Lightroom software when the only update is to the lens profiles in the CameraRAW part? Modular design??? ... Anyway... enough of a rant...

PS: I actually hate apple - but the above, in its form is a fact. For all I know your software might run fine on an apple PC - apparently that is the claim... nevertheless, people in their own free time can make a significantly better product for Windows than a company with billions in cash? It sounds as ridiculous as it is...

I think the question is partially what you look for - a tool or a toy? Because a BlackBerry is a tool. It is designed for work (and that it does wonderfully).
Most people always moaned about the lack of applications (not sure why because I never missed any...) - but with the ease of porting Android applications for BlackBerry 10, that should not be a significant problem.

If the PlayBook is anything to go by, the OS should work very well too - more RAM (not that the PlayBook fills the 1GB it has) and a faster processor should make for a good user experience.

And as I mentioned... I might actually go an look at a Z10...

It's a fact that QuickTime is ridiculous. But that has nothing to do with a phone. I'm not sure I even have QT on my computer (Windows 7)... I use iTunes for my iPad and iPhones (5 and 4, hopefully jail broken 4 before long), and I have used it to burn audio CD's. all video and audio is routed to Windows Media Player as default player.

I don't particularly like iTunes, but it's not too terrible if you keep your phone synced once in a while. I do miss my SD card slots for easy data transfer, though.
Now that I'm used to it, it isn't hard, and apple iOS is the most (or second most, based on the survey you look at) secure mobile platform there is. Android ranks dead last, and iOS and Blackberry are tied for the lead.

I'm not necessarily trying to tell him Apple is the only way; it's the one for me because it 'Just works', but that is his decision.

But to come out and say that Apple's OS isn't secure is ridiculous. Every app in the App Store is screened by Apple before it is released, and it is nearly impossible to hack through their security blocks, unless you're the Evad3rs, and even they are having an extremely difficult time trying to Jailbreak.

I wonder if the video editors on The Titanic ever went, "Sorry, I can't right now. I'm busy synching the Titanic..."
