Ive shot several fashion weeks in Mumbai, and an opportunity presents itself to shoot a fashion week in NY! Im looking for tips & etiquette as to shooting the ramp, as in are the places fixed (scotch marked etc) in the media riser / photographer's pit etc.
Out here its a grab on each day, there are no markings, the photographers with monopods go stand behind and everyone else huddles up wherever they can, there are arguments with someone head coming in from front, someone's elbow coming in from behind, and then some photographer who the designer has appointed will come & sit in right in front or creating a big rukus, but everyone in the end leaves as friends. This is a picture from last years fashion week finale which was held outdoors in the night, light was pretty bad as it always is. Even indoors the light is patchy, but one gets to know the good & the bad of the light as the show progresses. Usually one can get by shutter speed of 250 at f/4 at ISO400
THIS IS A LOW QUALITY PREVIEW. Please log in to see the good quality stuff.
