There's a spectacular thread on Nature and Landscapes - how about an aviation focused sunrise/sunset thread?

I just recently switched from shooting a Canon Rebel XS to a 40D. The Goshawk shot was taken on my first evening out with the new 40D, trying to get familiar with it.

Good afternoon, I had a question regarding this pic which is awesome to start! How'd you do it? The F-16 is in perfect focus, and the bokeh of foreground and background are awesome. I know some Canon L glass is a part of it but beyond that how did you get the pic to set up perfectly like that? TIA!

As a side bar, I recently picked up a MK IV, wow what a set up from the 10D!!! I'm looking to do some BIF/wildlife and air shows if/when I can. I can't wait to try the 10 frames/second on a high speed pass from something a la Thunderbirds/Blue Angels.
