HELP! What kind of point and shoot camera should I get?

I would like to buy a point and shoot camera for my wife, its just for family function. should I get the point and shoot camera Fujifilm Finepix F800EXR? or a mirrorless camera?? if so what kind? Max I'll spend is 350$ if need be. please HELP!

For around $300, I would get the Canon S100 for its image quality and easy handling.
The F800EXR is a compact with a large zoom - if that's your liking, I recommend the
Canon SX260 or the Panasonic ZS20 over the Fuji for their intuitiveness and quality.

what about mirrorless camera's? is it worth buying one over the P&S camera's?

You'd blow the budget that way. Less lens range, more $ and more bulk. Mind you, I love my EOS M, but it's not small and easy to stow.

In opinion, a mirrorless would be an overkill for "just for family function".
Especially if your budget is up to $350. If you were filthy rich, that would
have been a different story, but since you're just like the rest of us...

lolz, I'm leaning towards more on the Canon S110 since it has wifi capable to upload photo's. Any thoughts?

Honestly the S110 might be overkill as well. Looks like that is going for $379 right now which is over your budget. And it looks like you'd rather spend less than the $350 if you can.

If this is for a beginner and for just basic family pics, I'd look into the Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-WX150 for $150 (or a similar camera). It doesn't have quite as many features as the Canon, but it sounds as those might be wasted for your needs anyway. You'll still get nice family pics from it and save yourself some money.

Anyway, just an option. Good luck with your choice.

Thanks for your opinion. I'm just looking for a quality camera that takes great pictures and something practical for family function, S100 seems great since its the latest camera on the market that has decent quality pics and the review isn't bad. I rather spend 350$ since I'm getting the bang for my buck. Hope everything turns out like I want haha.

The S100 and S110 don't differ much in terms of quality.
Are you're willing to pay $100 extra for minor enhancements,
plus wi-fi (which is useful, no doubt) and touch screen controls?
