If true, and its sensor performs as well as the K-5 II, then Canon will have a bit of pressure to up their sensor technology.

That's the job of Tokina. Same reason why so many Tokina lenses have identical versions with the Pentax name. So, Tokina will have to upgrade its production facilities to support a full-frame Pentax. I think that was only when Hoya owned pentax and tokina both. Ricoh bought Pentax a couple years ago, so who knows if that pertnership still exists. Taylor

The K-30 has been a hit, but Pentax has hovered around 5% market share going on 5 years now. (Since the market has expanded since the 2006-ish numbers, that Pentax retains much the same market share suggests more sales and possible revenue, though.) - James -
