I would like to start doing more with flashes, I have one 430ex II now. Can I use my 430ex II as a master with say two Yongnuo 565ex as slaves or do I need a wireless trigger.

Your 7D's pop up flash can trigger the 430. Not sure if it can trigger the Yongnuos though. The 430 can't act as a master itself.

I’ve used my 430ex as a slave with my 7D/pop-up, but would like to have multiple flashes with my 5D3. Maybe I'll pickup a 580exII, my thinking was to get two flashes for the price of one 580exII.
