I only have Elements 2, and am certainly anything but an expert, but I suppose the "Enhance" features are worked in much the same way. I did Enhance>Adjust Colours>Hue and Saturation. Then played with the Cyan and the Blue in there.(Changing the green made little to no difference to me) I then did Enhance>Brightness and Contrast>Levels and tweeked them. Then did USM 30/50/10. Ended up with Image A. As you have the big file, you should be able to finer tune things. And deal with noise.
Image B Was done by creating a seperate layer of the plane, then go through much the same as I did above so colours of the plane are not effects. And you could get an even darker blue for the top half of sky. (I only did it to what suited me) With the plane on a seperate layer you could also work to bring out a little more detail in the shadows of it, if you wished.
