I think you'll find a lot of people bought a 5dmk2 since the price has dropped a ton lately, or upgraded to the 6d or 5dmk3. I still have mine and will keep it as my backup to my 5dmk3

I don't feel that this is true at all

Tongue in cheek. I have one and reckon its a great machine. I just find it amusing all the posts that compare the 5d3 af now to this at less than half the price. All of a sudden the 7d is an inferior product

Isn't every camera inferior the moment an upgrade is released? At least according to the interweb ;)

maybe I was misunderstood, I don't imply that it's an inferior product, I feel the camera is only limited by the photographer.

I will be selling my 7D along with the 30D for same reason other poster here already mentioned.. I think 6D will suit my style better than my current cameras.. 7D is a great camera when it came out and it's time to move on to a newer body/technology..

New Technology... and 'rumored' New Technology... will make you and your Current gear take Horrible Pictures unless you sell immediately and purchase a different camera. ;-)a

I needed cash fast for my God Daughter who suffered through 2 tornadoes right around Christmas. ...

After CPS looked at ghe focus issue (a lot of people said I didn't know how to put the focus points on my subject) it performed superbly. ..

Will be watching tbe sell off for sure for another. ...

I got curious, and really bored at work, so I looked at the first 35 pages of the sell forum and counted them up. Totally unscientific as i just looked at the title itself and not at the contents and did not validate if there were multiple listings for the same camera. Indeed there are more 7Ds for sale than other bodies but there are some surprises as well.
7D = 37
5Dc = 18
5DII = 36
5DIII = 9
6D = 1
1DII = 13
1DIII = 10
1DIV = 6
30D = 1
40D = 9
50D = 10
60D = 13
350D = 1
450D = 3
500D = 5
550D = 9
600D = 1

Not sure why, but call me JJ.

That's interesting, I started this topic just on what I have been seeing when I glance at the sell forum here, I would think 100% of the 5dmkii sales are upgrades to 5dmkiii, I,was curious on the 7d, since there is no other crop upgrade, so it looks like they are moving to the FF world....

Or some of those selling 5dmkII's went to the darkside for higher MP's;)

I think a lot of 7D owners are making the switch to the 5D3.

Perhaps it's a "gateway camera."

(LOL Just Kidding :rolleyes:)

My comments were in no way directed at you or anyone in particular, its a trend with all tech gear not just cameras, new = good, old = crap according to the interweb

There are a few, like you, who seem to perpetrate this thinking. Why not change your thinking and say, old = good, new = better as that is more accurate. It's not that the old becomes anything less than it was, but the new is an improvement over the previous model.

I'm lovin' my old (great) 1DIII and my ancient (great) 1DsII more than I ever liked the 7d. :) (I'm one of the ones who went 1.3x from the 7d - the 1DsII is the upgrade to my 5Dc)

I'm loving it. I've actually been serious enough at this for long enough to finally have a feel for what I want/need for my style of shooting (I've probably been taking it somewhat seriously for two+ years but I'm still a hobbyist). What I've decided is that I'd really like a 7D for the sports and wildlife that account for about 80% of my photos.

I presently have some lenses up for sale/trade and I'm hoping to trade a lens or two for a 7D (I'm also considering the 5Dc just for curiosity sake about what all this FF talk is about) which will make me and hopefully some other guy or girl, really happy.
