Today i ran across a used 17-40 f/4 L with the pricetag of £454/$710 at a local photodealer.
It looks to be in mint condition and he gives 6 months warranty.
I been looking at a 24-105 L and the 17-40 L mainly for the versatility, glas quality and weatherproof.
The thing is, i'm broke(spent waaaaaay too much money on camera gear).. but since, too me, it's a great deal and with minimum fuzz, i been thinking about trading in my lenses for the 17-40.
The ones i will be trading in are:
Samyang 8mm
Canon 28-80 USM
Canon 85 USM
Canon 40 STM.
I might sell the 85 to a friend for $316/£202 and trade in the other three.
Problem is, i will loose diversity in different primes and the bokeh and portrait stuff.
Mind you that i have a crop so the focal length will be 27-65mm and i think i can use that as an allround, and get away with most shots.
If i do a musicvideo or a job that demand a higher focallength i could always borrow/rent.
But as it is now, i want to take the leap to L glases.
From what i've heard the 17-40 is the cheapest of them, and far from the best quality. But it is still a better alternative to my other glases. And quite frankly.. i'm a wee bit tired of carrying around/switching lenses for every day random photographing.
