Bought 7D and 24L same day. In my noobie eyes, my pics mostly seem similar, not great, but ok. Doesn't seem to matter which lens/body/flash combo. Overall, me/wife/family satisfied.


7D || 5D2 || three 580exII's | 430exII | 24L II | 50L | 100L macro | 70-200/2.8L IS | 24-105L | canon 50/1.4 | canon 17-55/2.8 | Sigma 35/1.4 |Sigma 50/1.4 | Tamron 24-70/2.8 VC |Pocket Wizard Plus II. slingpro 100 and 200, and a million other accessories I can't even remember.

The 50mm 1.8 was a huge step up in terms of DOF from the kit lens, and I still love it dearly although mine has focus problems, and I was so in awe of it right from the first day. I've never played with "big" lenses so I am yet to be as amazed as I was with the nifty fifty.

2400mm f2.8 (was 400mm 2.8, i fitted extra refractive elements and re-calibrated the multiplier).

Man does this lens pop!


1Ds (Killed by bird crap), 5d2 (never to be taken apart!), 300d IR (fianlly put it back together), 35L, 40mm pancake, 85mm 1.8, Tamwrong 28-75 2.8 (really good lens!) and a load of spare parts!

Same here. Great lens for travel and hiking, and the first time I used it really blew me away.

50 1.8 it was my first lens besides the kit i was at wow with the IQ then i got the nikon 50mm 1.2 and everything is history
