Monster Jam - 02.02.13

I went on a family outing to Monster Jam this past weekend in Tampa. I went to last year's with my dad and brought my camera, but forgot to pack a memory card, so this was my first time shooting an event like this. I hope you like the shots! Nice set. Great job on panning. I'm flying to CA this weekend to visit my son and possibly catch the Monster Truck Jam at the Anaheim Stadium. I've read mix reviews of camera/lens policies at various stadiums. Did you encounter any problems getting in or while taking pictures with your gear?

Thanks. Backpacks in general were not supposed to be allowed into this stadium. When the security guard shook his hand at me in disapproval, I immediately opened the bag to reveal my gear. He gave me the "ok" at first, until he saw the 135. He opened his index finger and thumb as far as they would go (about 6") and held it up to the 135, then the 24-70. They barely passed the test. He was hesitant to let me in, but obviously it ended up working out.

All shots posted here were taken with the 135, along with most of the other photos from this set. The rest were taken with the 24-70.
