I finally have had time to process some shots from the Rose Parade. I have never gotten so soaked. I used the Digital rebel with an older Sigma 28-300mm lens and it got very wet. You could even see water inside the lens. I dried it out all night in front of a heat vent and it seems fine now--whew, dodged a bullet I think!
The first two are some marchers--Post horn players and pirate girls.--3 more replies to follow.

Here are two of the floats, I thought the second one by Rain Bird was especially appropriate.

I especially liked the Rain Bird, since I have 2 Macaws and a Blue fronted Amazon myself. The photos were hard earned and beautiful. Thanks for sharing!

Great shots. We missed the Rose parade since we were traveling and on the road. The rain was awful that day and we constantly were talking about the people in the parade as well as watching the parade. Brave souls!
Thanks for sharing these.

Well, Mark, these are superior shots under the circumstances. I'm beginning to realize just how persistent you can be. Great work, too bad the weather made it so difficult for everyone.
