So far in this thread, we have one person saying the version 2 doesn't improve flair over the Version 1 without anything to back that claim up and then a bunch if bickering about how much the version 1 does flair.

Does anyone have anything relevant to the version 2?

No...

Ive had the 11-16 flare from street lights on bridges.... Its still a great lens though.

Ditto. I'll say it once more, great lens with flare problem, not just from sun light but any light source. I've taken night time pictures of a lighthouse with lights around it. I love the shots and star effect (without star filter) but the flare ruins it. I had to clean them up during pp.

I read a review or 2 somewhere..Nikon mount, around Oct., but can't (for the life of me) find anything now.

Watch this video shot with the Mk II; if this IS improved, i'd hate to think how bad the Mk 1 actually was!! Pay particular attention at the 3:00 mark, where he's walking in front of the camera, and the sun isn't even in frame ( off to camera right).

Pretty bad flaring, if you ask me, and you'd never get anything like this from the Canon 10-22.

Of course not! but please don't google Canon 10-22 flare. This may be the very first entry....what was this guy smoking? Maybe flare is and issue with most UWA lenses?

Oh...i see! You've gone from vehemently denying a flare issue with the Toki, to now labeling it as an UWA issue.

Nice!

Please, I never said that the Tokina couldn't flare. My point has always been the non-stop bashing this lens has received by a couple of people in favor of the Canon. I just find all the yelling a little overdone. Just looking for a little balance. I have never posted one negative comment about the Canon till now. My post above was in response to your comment stating…“Pretty bad flaring, if you ask me, and you'd never get anything like this from the Canon 10-22.” Apparently that’s incorrect.
