I was down at the beach today, shooting herons, when I looked up and saw a big bird flying towards me. It was silhouetted against the sky so I wasn't sure what it was. My guess was that it was the red-tailed hawk that is often spotted here. When I got home and uploaded the pix to my computer, I got a pleasant surprise. These are very heavy crops, as it was pretty far away, but I'm thrilled to add this one to my life list. I'm going to try to find it again and get some better shots.

Hey, congrats! BEs are always fun to get, and a bit of a thrill to catch one's first :)

Yes, they're an experience. My first eagle picture was taken with a Motorola Razr phone, of all things. JUST zoomed in enough to see a white head and tail on a dark body, and I was still thrilled with it.
