What is a stolen Omni Bounce?

1. What advantages does it offer? what exactly does it do?

2. Is the effect different from the white card that Pops up from the Yn-468II. What about the other plastic pop up thing on the flash?

3. Is it one size fits all, or different sizes for different flashes?

I've been playing around with flash and wonder if getting one would be of any real benefit.

I think you mean the Sto-Fen omnibounce. ;)
I have one, it's a great place to stash batteries and spare change.

1) It throws light everywhere. Its only useful in a smallish room with lots of white walls and ceilings close by to reflect that light.

2) You will get some light thrown forward as with a bounce card, but its a smaller surface.

3) They're sized for specific flash heads since they're a tight fit.

They eat a lot of power and many people dislike them. I used to use one a bit, but now I just aim the flash at the wall and/or ceiling and bounce from there. Learning to bounce the flash well will give you more control vs. the light grenade you get from the Omni-bounce throwing light in every direction at once.

Are you a lightweight drinker, or are you trying to drink less than you normally do ???

If I wanted a beer mug, I would use this quart size container, just short of the capacity of a German maas...

Less money than the Omnibounce, more nutritious initial purchase, and greater beer carrying capacity!

And it works equally well, or a bit better due to its larger size.

I always see people using this thing to shoot events like in Night clubs or Car shows with no close walls or low ceiling to bounce the light. In these cases, is this actually beneficial?

It sells more batteries for the battery manufacturers

Pffft. My 430 EXII came with one. I find it very handy for holding the gels that I've already attached velcro to in my bag. It does a fantastic job of keeping the in one place so I don't have to keep fishing for them. :D

They are mostly used by amateur photographers pretending to be professional photographers.

Ha Ha.. Funny

Ive got 2 of them and use them when i need to. Sometimes you cant bounce so it has its purpose when shooting direct.I have the orange one for receptions. It does a great job with tungsten and mixed lighting. I can set it at K3700-3900 and get excellent results right off the camera.
