Merritt Island NWR Skimmer

I had a couple of hours to spend at the Merritt Island NWR this week and I can across a small pond and a Skimmer was working it. He totally could care less about me and never left the pond.
I don't think I have ever seen one working a fresh water pond before. Though to be honest this is pretty brackish water.
