Very nice...

Minor Nit: Watch your angle of reflectance Vs the sun position to avoid the "wink" that's displayed on the Virgin jet. A little sooner or a little later (as the Air China Jet looks) and you'll miss that blown out stripe on the vertical tail and down the fuselage.

Gorgeous light though. Morning departures to the north?

I guess my edit did not work.

Jay thanks for the tip. The shot were taken around 4:30 in the afternoon and yes the planes were taking off to the north. These shots usually never turn out for me due to heat, but I got lucky with cold air and some wind.

sjammer, if you go over near the San Bruno train station where the passenger pick up is and park in the lot near the National Guard base, you can get some decent decent shots on takeoff, but you can't see them coming, only hear them, and of course it helps to have a cool day to avoid the heat haze. A scanner helps to hear them getting cleared to take off also. It's a challenge to catch them, but worth it when you do. If you want, I can post a couple of samples?

You need to be lucky to have spot light on subject with a nice dark BG.

Jollyroger99 - I would love to see some samples if you have them. There is a bus stop by the United Bldg I want to try out which is pretty close to the end of runway 28, but I have heard it is not uncommon to be harrassed by security.

Jollyroger99 those are great shots. I will definitely have to try shooting from there. I have to ask, we're you part of the Jolly Rogers?
